Skunks are a nasty critter that needs to be dealt with if it’s living on your property. They have one of the most ridiculous and horrifying weapons in the animal kingdom and they are not at all afraid to use it. Coming near a skunk will get you sprayed. Yelling or talking loudly while near a skunk, even without knowing it is there will get you sprayed. Skunks are neurotic creatures that burrow into holes to stay away from predators that, in the city, do not exist. Trenching is the process of protecting a structure like a deck, shed or house with a soil-floored crawl space from invasion by burrowing wild animals. This process starts with digging a one-foot by six-inch trench or ditch around the structure. Waterproof galvanized steel mesh is then attached to the side of the deck or bottom of the structure and then attached with bolts. The steel mesh is then buried one foot down and six inches out in the ground and is buried. This prevents burrowing animals from getting under the structure in the future. The technician will also attach a one-way door to the entrance of the burrow the animal made. This is a device that allows the animal to pass through and then blocks the animal from getting back in. This can be done in many ways, with a spring locking door, or simply with a door that falls from gravity and blocks the entrance by making a ramp to the top of the steel opening.

First, locate all the items and areas that were hit and put them all together. There are a variety of options but the best choice is a mixture of hydrogen peroxide, vinegar, baking soda and dish soap. This mix is effective in getting the smell out of fabrics and off of surfaces. You, on the other hand, are a different story. When mixing this together do it in an open bucket and never close a lid on it. They can get very foamy together and burst the lid clean off.
Once you have the smells eradicated it’s time to let out the smell stuck in the air. don’t worry if you can still smell it, if you followed the instructions then the smell is gone. Get some fans, whatever you have, and aim them at the smell. Open the door and position the fan behind the smell so they get blown away outside. This should not take long if you cleaned everything properly.
